TIPS FOR SURVIVING LONG FLIGHTS |TRAVEL HACK

Ever been to long flights? It’s just physically and mentally exerting. After sitting on the same seat for hours you just wish to jump out of the window and just leave the flight.

This has happened to me and it happens to all of us when you take long international flights.
Especially when you are alone, It becomes more difficult to survive on long flights which takes hell lot of hours to reach your destination.

As a sailor, I usually have to travel on long International flights alone.
Today I will be sharing some tips for surviving through long international flights.

WEAR COMFORTABLE CLOTHING

Always start preparing yourself by selecting super comfortable clothes when you are about to face a super long flight. This will be the great help to you, Believe me if you are into something uncomfortable then you will be frustrated all through the flight.

SELECTION OF SEATS

Always make sure you are not stuck in between two persons and sandwiched. This I have experienced when I was travelling from Abu dhabi to Sau Paolo Brazil it was 18 hours none stop flight.

The experience was awful, So make sure to select a window seat as selecting a window seat is always a great relief as you can peep through the window and what else can be better than having a view of the ocean, small tiny houses and the mountains.

KEEPING YOURSELF ENTERTAINED

It is crucial things when you are on a long flight. Pack your laptop, tablet or mobiles with good entertainment stuff, As most of the airlines provide you with the embedded seat screens on which they have preloaded movies and shows, But it is not compulsory.
So do have some backup because if you are not given with the entertainment provision with your airlines you are in deep trouble.
I also know many people who continuously watch the screen or their mobile phone which is also not good as it will have very adverse effects on your mind, eyes and whole body, That’s why I have suggested to also make a good choice in selecting seat a window seat will give you the opportunity to rest your eyes.

And lastly never forget to carry a good pair of headphones with you as this will make sure you are only entertaining yourself and not others.

CARRY A TRAVEL PILLOW AND EYE MASK

I can literally assure you that the travel pillow you are provided on the flights is way uncomfortable. To be honest, I have never seen one that is comfortable. There are also chances that the airlines don’t provide one.
So to be safe and comfortable don’t forget to pack one, They are cheap and super easy to carry. The travel pillow and an eye mask will surely help you relax on your long flight. You can also combine them with noise cancelling earphones and sleep like a baby. If you sleep sound on your long flight this will also prevent jet lag.

If you are having a long flight of 18 hours I would suggest a sound sleep of 6 hours would be a great help. But make sure you don’t sleep more as this also has adverse effects on your body.

EXERCISE

Wait, what?? exercise on a plane? Yes, you can .sitting on the same place for long hours is not at all good for anybody.
You can stand and stretch a bit But make sure the flight seat belt indications are off.
If you are thinking and feeling shy about how we can stretch in front of everybody. Just follow my way of doing it.
Move to the lavatory(toilet) and stretch your body and make sure to enable blood circulation everywhere. This will refresh you.
You can also try the ankle and neck movement while seating on your seat too.

CARRY LIGHT SNACKS

There is a big misconception that you can’t carry anything to eat and drink inside a plane .Let me tell you guys this is totally wrong.You can carry nuts,dry fruits etc in a zip pouch or small boxes and keep it in your carry on bag.This will prove handy when you have argue to eat.

BE POLITE

This is very important because I have seen people lashing out on air hostess. Please don’t do this, They are also on the same flight and they are also facing the same situation in which we all are. This is literally a no-win situation for the person involved in abusing and letting out their frustration on an air hostess.
